Beginner’s Guide: AirDroid Business Geofencing

Many of our customers have already embraced mobile transformation and are sending them out in the field to give employees better productivity. For instance, truck drivers now use Android devices for communication and managing their delivery; health organizations use Android tablets to track the location and health status of patients.

However, as your business and number of devices are growing, how do you effectively manage and monitor the entire deployment when you have hundreds of devices out in the field on a daily basis?

This is where AirDroid Business Geofencing comes in. It’s a location-based solution to let you track and monitor the location of your devices, with advanced analytics features to help you improve security and operational efficiency.

Location Tracking: know where your devices are with one glance

Location tracking is now integrated into the new Geofencing feature tab, making it easier for you to track and monitor activities using all the good functions. This simple feature could also give you valuable information and insight for different scenarios.

One-click to refresh every device’s location. Quickly see the latest location status of your deployed devices from a bird’s eye view perspective.

Centralize device listing for quick access. Search, filter and pinpoint a device that you are looking for easily.

Path Tracking: know where your devices have been

Path history can give your business valuable information and insight, for security and productivity purposes. It’s especially useful when you have many devices out in the field for a long period of time on a daily basis.

The Path Tracking feature enables you to see the full activity history of any GPS-enabled device. So whether it’s to see where a lost or stolen device had been to get information or checking if a vehicle or employee had gone off-path, Path Tracking is something that can give you valuable information for analysis.

Customize date ranges and go way back. Pick a date range to get a full picture of device activity. You might just spot something out of place.

Follow the trail and see a visual path history of a device. You can see the path in order of activity sequence, with the point of time to match the location.

Access path history for any device in one place. Every device and device group can be easily accessed, so you can quickly find any device.

Geofencing: monitor entering & exiting with virtual fences

Many businesses have vehicles, devices or personnel out in the field. How do you track their activities when they are out for a long period of time moving in various directions? Is there a way to monitor and track in an efficient manner? Wonder no more. With geofencing, you can easily create virtual fences at any location to monitor the entering or exiting activity of a vehicle, device or personnel.

For instance, you can create geofences for your HQ station and various warehouses across different locations. This way, you will know if and when a truck does enter an assigned warehouse.

Manage all your geofences in one place. The intuitive user interface is designed to help you manage all your deployments and geofences as you scale. You don’t need to worry about the deployment becoming too overwhelming as you can easily locate and see all your geofences on the map.

Create one or multiple geofences in seconds. Put virtual fences at any location you want for different tracking scenarios. Adjust radius easily by dragging the circle.

Flexibility to map a geofencing profile to any device or device group.

Workflows: automate tasks for better productivity and efficiency

Workflows work side by side with geofences. The idea is simple: you can automate certain tasks using in or out-of-area triggers. It will enhance your productivity and  efficiency so that your team’s valuable time doesn’t get occupied by constantly checking the dashboard. Workflows are also categorized by different levels of actions. You can have your team be notified when the most critical automation such as resetting the device gets triggered, as it may need a swift follow-up.

Send email alerts to your team. Keep everyone in your organization informed at all times. It will come in handy when a critical workflow does take place and needs everyone’s attention.

Automated security measures. The automated sequence includes locking, resetting the device and more.

Check the event log to find patterns of concern. You have access to a log report that lets you customize and filter the device, date, workflow, and actions taken. You can also download the report and send it to your team for further analysis.

Create different workflows for different scenarios. Edit and manage your workflows in one place saves you lots of time from going back-and-forth.
