AirDroid App Review: Switchr – Task Switching Revolutionized

Hi, guys. This is Co & Do’s Channel from AirDroid team. Welcome to this week’s app review. Here we go.

Multitasking is very common on the smart phone. But there is a question that how do you switch between those multitasks efficiently? Still tap the home button to go back to the home screen and reopen the app you want to open? Quite time wasting, isn’t it? Just forget this old fashion operation, and now I’d like you to meet Swichr, which aims to change the way you swap the apps on your Android. It’s so simple and incredibly handy.

1. Task Switching

Once you launch Swichr, you will be greeted with a welcome wizard, which is a quick guide to teach you how to use it. At the end of the quick guide, you’ll be asked to choose one of the switcher you want to use. There are three kinds of switchers: Flow, Slide and Arc. However, I recommend you to choose Flow and Arc, which are easier and more useful than Slide.

After you choose one of the switchers, you can enjoy fast switch multitasking when you swipe from the side of the screen.

All you need to do is keeping your finger on the screen and either move it to the right or left (if using the Flow style) or around the arc (if using the Arc style). When the app you want to open is highlighted, remove your finger, and the app will open.

Such kind of action is easy and timesaving. You no longer have to go back to the home screen to re-open the app you want.

2. Pin Apps to Switchr

Switchr allows you to pin apps you use frequently to be shown on the task menu, thus you can search it easily.

3. Changing the edge trigger for Switchr

It’s my favourite part of Switchr. It allows you to customize the height and position of the swiping area. It’s a good feature for me because something is wrong with my screen, so part of my screen doesn’t work well. With the help of Switchr, I can choose which side I want to swipe from and the position on the edge of the screen, etc.

Switchr also has a pro version, which offers all of the above free features, but also includes:

  • Visual indicator

  • Blacklist/whitelist apps

  • Fade animation

  • Resume running apps

  • Effects customizations

  • Pin running apps to Switchr

How do you like about Switchr? Is it a good feature to integrated into the Andorid system?

Remember this is Co & Do’s Channel from AirDroid team. See you next week.
